CREATIVE WAYS TO ATTRACT MORE BUSINESS
May 05, 2015
HAVE YOU HAD ENOUGH OF SENDING EMAILS THAT NEVER GET A RESPONSE? ARE YOU LOOKING FOR NEW WAYS TO GET MORE EXPOSURE?
Whether you work for yourself or you are part of a bigger company, here are some fun and creative ideas to attract more customers!
Organise an event
Events create a buzz and put a spotlight on your business, especially if it attracts attention from the press or is shared in high volumes online. It could be as small as an office bake off, which can be documented online, or it could be something that you invite people to, such as a seminar or an open day. Although you may not be selling your product or service at the event, it sows a seed in people’s minds about who you are.
Make a video
A video promoting your products or services is an extremely versatile asset, because it can be shared on YouTube, promoted on social media and embedded on your website. You can also include it within a newsletter; people generally find web content much easier to engage with than plain text.
Give things away
Everyone loves a freebie! Giving something away shows people that you are generous, and that you take a genuine interest in your customers. It could be a social media giveaway, a prize draw for your email subscribers, or simply free advice or information. A blog, for example, is the ideal opportunity, reveal industry secrets, answer questions, and give people an insight into who you are as a business.
Take more photos
A study has shown that 93% of the most engaging posts on Facebook are photos. We have certainly seen it here at The Creation Lab; we find that our most popular posts are photos taken around the office or out on a film shoot. It only takes a few seconds to snap a picture with your phone, but your customers will love the personal approach of seeing what happens ‘behind the scenes’ at your company.
Meet new people
While we love social media and chatting online, nothing beats meeting new people in person. Whether it’s at a networking event, or just on a Friday evening down the pub, the opportunity to meet and get to know new friends, without ‘selling’ them anything, is one of the most effective ways to do business.
Show an interest
We all have that one friend on Facebook who gives you a minute-by-minute update on their day, to the point where your newsfeed is dominated by their updates. Thank goodness for the “mute” button! For businesses, it’s just the same. If you solely talk about your own products or services all the time, your followers will not be interested. Make the first step by showing a genuine interest in others, whether it is congratulating a business on their new office, joining in another discussion or simply saying hello to a new follower. People will be pleasantly surprised!
We hope you are inspired to try out a few of these ideas! If you have any questions or would like any help, just get in touch and we’d be delighted to meet you.
