As its Christmas in 5 days (yes that’s right 5 days!!!) we thought it would be only right to write our blog all around the top tips of this merry season! Although these tips are relevant all year round, we have tailored them especially to fit in with this time of year – so take a look to see how you can improve your online presence … or presents!
1 – Social Media
Make sure you get your company out there on social media at this festive time of year! It’s a great way to let people see your fun side as well as slyly promoting yourselves or your products.
You can bring in a lot of business by simply posting on social media a few times a week, and it’s so easy at this time of year! Upload a pic of your tree in the office, or the Christmas party, even do a secret Santa in the office. You don’t have to go overboard, but just the smallest of efforts can open up your business to a whole new audience!
2- SEO
At this time of year it’s essential to get your company ranking high on Googles SEO, especially if you are an e-commerce site. Take the time to look over your sitemap and keywords to ensure you are ranking well in the search results, it could make all the difference to your Christmas takings!
3 – Responsive websites
With online shopping becoming more and more popular, it’s ever more important to offer your products on mobile devices. When people are on the way to work or on their lunch break they will often take the time to do their shopping, so if your website isn’t available on mobile or tablet devices you could be missing out big time!
4-Low load times
The last thing you want to happen this time of the year is for slow load times to make customers click off of your site. Ensure that all of your images are cropped to the right sizes, reduce plugins and do everything you can to make sure your site is user friendly and fast this Christmas!

5 – Videos
A great addition to any website over the Christmas period is a video – of course you can do any type you like it doesn’t have to be especially for the festive period – but for the sakes of this blog, a festive video can pull in lots of customers, juts look at John Lewis!
Facebook lives means we can now stream with ease, and showing your customers that you’re in the festive spirit with a short clip here or there is a great way to drum up business on social media.
6 – Competitions
Christmas is a great time to offer special discounts or competitions, after all who doesn’t love a freebie at the most expensive time of the year? A competition can give you something to post about on social media for the entire month too and will most definitely encourage customers to your site.
