Our Top Tips For Pay Per Click Ads!

Feb 14, 2017

Pay per click advertising can be a great way to help drive traffic and customers to your website; they work almost like a bidding system, so the competitor that bids the most for a targeted keyword will get the most exposure. You can choose between the ad showing in search results or in blocks embedded within websites.

If you decide to use pay per click advertising on Google, you should probably know the best way to get the most out of it before you start dishing out your hard earned cash! Just read below for all of our top tips!

Check your account regularly

If you have set up and are paying for ads on Google, you will want to know whether or not they are working effectively. Luckily with pay per click you can track everything, from what keywords are producing the best results to how much revenue is coming in.

Make sure you are regularly checking and tweaking what you are promoting so that you know whether your ads are successful, little changes can make big differences and lead to more business coming in for your company!

Make sure your website is up to scratch

Using pay per click ads is a great way to drive more people to your website, but getting them to stay there is another story. Google ads might work to drive up your visitors but the real goal is to drive up sales and if your ad leads to an outdated, ugly website this probably won’t happen.

You will also need to make sure that the content on your landing page and the content in your ad is related. Keep it engaging and relevant to the products and services you are providing!

Using keywords

Keywords are a huge part of using pay per click ads, so ensuring you are using the best and most relevant for your business is essential. If you choose the option of setting your keywords to ‘broad match’ this means that your ad could show for irrelevant searches which could mean you are paying for traffic that you don’t want.

Be sure to keep your keywords as phrase or exact match to prevent losing money to clicks you don’t want!

Create a strategy

When it comes to using pay per click it’s important you set out knowing exactly how much you want to spend and when you want your ads to show. By setting up a strategy before you start you will know when and where your ads will show. You can define aspects such as the region they are shown in, the time and day of the week they show and your daily budget which Google won’t go over.

So if your business is based in say Essex and is active from Monday to Friday standard working hours, you can optimise your ads to only run within these time frames and areas!

So those are our top tips for creating a great pay per click campaign! If you follow them you are sure to drive up custom and traffic to your website; if you need some help with your own promotion on Google, be sure to get in touch with our friendly team, we are always happy to help!
