The Best Times to Post on Social Media

Mar 21, 2019

There has been a huge amount of research conducted to try and find the best times to post on social media. Knowing the ideal times to post on various social media platforms is important for a business because it helps to ensure that the maximum amount of people are seeing the content that you are posting. During the ‘peak times’ you are also much more likely to get engagement because of the higher volume of people on the site.

On each day of the week, the best time to post on the different platform’s changes. Below is the best time for businesses to post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn in the whole week. The data is based on the number of active users on each platfom; a higher number of active users means that your post is more likely to be seen.

Facebook
Across the whole week, the ideal time to post on Facebook would be on Thursday at 1pm. This could be representative of the fact that it is lunchtime towards the end of the week. The worst day to post on Facebook is Saturday, after 12pm. The general trend shows that before 9am and after 7pm are not good times to post because there are not many people using Facebook around those times.

Twitter
Across the whole week, the ideal time to post on Facebook would be on Friday at 9am. This could be because people are checking their social media before the weekend. The worst day to post on Twitter is Sunday, in the morning. The general trend shows that before 5am and after 9pm are the worst times to post because there are not many users on Twitter at those times.

Instagram
Across the whole week, the ideal time to post on Instagram would be on Thursday at 3pm. This could be due to it being mid-afternoon and some people aren’t feeling very productive then! The worst day to post on Instagram is Sunday, in the morning. The general trend shows that before 5am and after 8pm are the worst times to post because there are not many users on Instagram around those times.

LinkedIn
Across the whole week, the ideal time to post on LinkedIn would be on Wednesday at 3pm. This could be the time when businesses are searching for others to link with. The worst days to post on LinkedIn are Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
