6 Reasons Your Website Needs a Flipbook

Nov 08, 2016

With the introduction of eBooks and devices like Kindles and iPads offering online reading, it’s been predicted that it won’t be long until physical newspapers and magazines are a thing of the past. And really, why not? EBooks provide an environmentally friendly alternative to paper, and there is a lot of money in online advertising and interactivity within them, so it could be a lucrative move for companies.

Here at The Creation Lab we produce beautifully designed, glossy flipbooks, perfect for showcasing your prospectuses, catalogues and much more. We thought we would take the time to list all of the benefits of having your very own flipbook on your website.

Environmentally friendly

There is a lot of coverage surrounding the issue of global warming in the news lately, and with a flipbook instead of an actual physical document you can save not only paper, but the whole binding and printing process.

This can greatly reduce your businesses carbon footprint which is always a benefit as well as bringing costs down.

Fast to load

Flipbooks are incredibly fast to load, even if you have a large amount of pages in your document. They don’t require any downloads like a PDF document, you simply share the URL to whoever you wish to view it and hey presto, there it is!

By having a fast loading document where you can simply click to whatever page you are looking for you are sure to reduce bounce rate on your website, and make viewing of your document easy and hassle free for customers. A benefit for everyone!

Saves money

A flipbook may cost to produce, but in the long run it is sure to save you money. Without the need to print, bind and distribute the document you can greatly reduce the cost of having a catalogue or magazine available to your customers.

This could even open the door for your company to produce a document that you may have before been unsure if you could afford. Once it’s been made, it’s always available, and is a one-time cost that will definitely be worth it!

Accessible

With the amount of readily available Wi-Fi and 3G these days, as well as our mobiles and tablet devices becoming more popular for internet surfing, it is easy to access the internet at any point in the day. With a flipbook someone can instantly gain access to your document wherever they may be! Unlike a paper copy it can’t be lost or forgotten about.

As well as this the ability to enlarge the text size in the document means that it is accessible to more people of differing abilities. If your company revolves around or is aimed at more disabled people, this could be a great way to show them how you are working to tailor your website for their needs as well as others.

Social media integration

Social media has become a huge part of marketing for companies recently, and having an online document means that it can be shared on these sites. This will increase the amount of traffic that comes through your site and could mean more people are interested in what you are offering.

Making something that can be shared over and over again on different sites is a great way to increase the interest in your site and product, whatever it may be.

Advertising

Interactive advertising is something that is very popular; with a flipbook you can integrate this into the design which is a great way for you to fund it! You have the ability to simply click onto an advert and be instantly directed to that website, something most companies would love to have.

This also means that customers have an easy way to access something there and then, unlike in a paper document.

Overall, a flipbook is not only attractive and easy to use, it also makes perfect business sense in that it will save you money, be better for the environment and increase the traffic through your website. So really, why wouldn’t you have one?

If you want to view some examples of flipbooks we have produced in the past, take a look here. Or if you are interested in having one of your own, get in touch via our contact page or by calling us on 01322 252292 – we would love to help!
