Why Concrete 5 is our CMS of Choice
Nov 10, 2017
Concrete 5 is the content management system used for the majority of websites built by us here at The Creation Lab.
Though we have used other content management systems like WordPress, Concrete 5 is the favourite amongst the content team in our office because of how easy to use and fool-proof it is. Concrete 5 uses a word processing style and WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) on-screen editing, and has a whole host of developers constantly contributing a huge range of plugins and enhancements of new and exciting features.
SEO needn’t be a worry with Concrete 5, either. Bulk SEO tools mean it’s impossible for our content team to miss a meta title or description, helping our clients to reach high positions in Google for targeted keywords. Take a look at some of our website success stories here.
“I enjoy the accessibility that Concrete5 provides. It's easy to navigate and labelled well enough to gain an understanding of the system and its features. Simple, yet effective!” – Chelsea, The Creation Lab’s Digital Content Assistant
Our clients like Concrete 5 as their content management system, too, because even for those with little or basic technical knowledge, it’s simple to use. There is no need for any coding, developing or design knowledge; the layout will be created by our in-house team of designers and developers, all that’s needed is to click what to edit and go from there.
We provide guides and CMS training to our clients which allow them to get to know the system before their site has gone live and it is handed over. Concrete 5 allows users to save their changes without publishing, meaning those who are logged in can see the edits, but those visiting the live site will see it as it were. This is great for organisations who may wish to consult fellow employees before pressing ‘publish’ and showing it live to the world!
The file manager in Concrete 5 truly deserves a mention, too. If you’re familiar with WordPress, you’ll understand that it can be difficult to find the image or document you need. With Concrete 5, you’re able to rename documents, place them into ‘sets’ and easily find them again whenever you need them.
The feedback we receive from our clients is that Concrete 5 is easy to pick up and easy to use, making the website editing process a breeze.
At The Creation Lab, we know our clients are comfortable with using Concrete 5 after receiving our CMS training and guides. If you’ve got a website but are struggling with the editing and keeping it up-to-date, we can help!
