5 REASONS WHY WE LOVE CRAYON
Mar 11, 2015
CRAYON IS OUR NEW FAVOURITE THING.
Built with marketers in mind (but also ideal for business owners, web developers, copywriters and design lovers), crayon.co works as a search engine for website designs, collating them so that they can be compared and used as inspiration.
Although there’s nothing wrong with searching for designs with good old fashioned Google, we love using Crayon and think it will become an indispensable tool for agencies around the world.
Here are 5 reasons why we love Crayon:
MORE THAN 13 MILLION DESIGNS AVAILABLE
Although Crayon is a simple concept, it’s bursting with designs, making it really useful when we’re seeking inspiration. We can have a look at a broad selection of websites within a few clicks, with the opportunity to compare them side by side.
FILTERING DESIGNS IS EASY
Clearly a lot of thought has been put into how designs could be filtered, because it really works. Designs can be filtered by page type, CMS, traffic level, industry and device type, meaning that you can quickly find inspiration for your web page, even if your search terms are really specific.
MOBILE DESIGNS ARE FEATURED
A large part of our design process is dedicated to how the site looks on a small screen, so the fact that Crayon features mobile designs brings us joy!
COLLABORATION IS ENCOURAGED
This search engine is social too; it encourages you to create an account, build collections of web designs and share them with other users. It’s a great way for us to share design ideas with each other in the office!
IT’S CONSTANTLY GROWING
If there’s something you cannot find, Crayon gives members the opportunity to add web pages to the database. This means that the collection of designs is being kept up to date, and designers like us can share their work with the rest of the Crayon community.
If you are in the process of updating your website, we thoroughly recommend Crayon for inspiration. While you’re there, take a look at my collections to see what I've been inspired by recently!
