5 Ways to Build Links For Your Website

Jan 27, 2017

Building links to your website is a great way to boost SEO and get your website higher up the ranks in search engines, but how do you go about it? There are in fact lots of reasons that other websites may link back to yours, because of content you have shared, a partnership you may already have established or due to an activity you have undertaken.

Updating content all the time is important for SEO, but there are ways you can get around this if you don’t have the time and still get link backs to your site, read below for our top 5 options when it comes to building links!

Social Media

Social media has grown rapidly in recent years, so much so that search engines have begun to include them in their algorithms for SEO. Although having links on social media won’t count towards your Google ranking, by building traffic and accounting for more views, this can indirectly produce a method of link building.

If a company shares your website on their social media for example, this could lead to another business or individual seeing this and result in them adding a link to your site on theirs.

Blogs

Blogs are a great way to get people talking about you and building links, not only can they prompt companies to link back to your site; they can attract new visitors and promote new information on your website as well.

Although writing blogs can be time consuming, by putting useful information related to your business out there on a regular basis you can gain a good amount of links from other sites. You can also share these posts on social media, ensuring you include a link, to promote it even more and reach a wide range of people.

Partnerships

Building a partnership with another company can be a very valuable asset to your business, and can of course work to build links. If this partnership is offline, be sure to recognise it online with plenty of link sharing of each other’s websites.

Networking and putting yourself out there to build relationships with other companies is essential for those all-important links, not only will you improve your SEO you could also find a useful contact for other means of marketing, such as videos and events.

Community

Another way to build links online is to reach out to your local community. If you support the growth and development of your local area within or even outside of your business, this can lead to activities or other events which can be used for link building.

Of course this shouldn’t be the main reason for supporting your community, but it is a benefit that many companies forget to utilise.

Testimonials

Finally, testimonials are a great way to get people linking back to your website. Endorsing a company that you work with or whose products you rely on can provide useful back links and help to build relationships too. Approaching a company and suggesting you write a testimonial to be featured on their site isn’t time consuming and could lead to other exciting opportunities as well.

So those are a few of the ways that you can build links and improve your websites SEO, there are lots of other ways of doing it but we think these are the best and/or quickest methods for pushing up your rankings.

If you need some help with your SEO or want to know more about link building, please do get in touch via our contact page here.
