The Top 5 Business Tools We’re Currently Using
Jan 26, 2018
In order to run an award-winning web design and development agency, we often use a number of fantastic online business tools to our advantage. Whether they’re helping us keep on top of things or simply making B2C communication easier, here’s the top 5 business tools we’re currently using, and loving.
Basecamp
We’ve been using Basecamp for a while now and we have to say, we’re loving it. Basecamp does a lot for us here at The Creation Lab; it organises our internal communication, projects and client communication, meaning everything is in one easy to find place. Basecamp brings everything within The Creation Lab under one, easy-to-use system. In their own words, Basecamp is “organised, centralised and clear so everyone knows what to do, everyone knows where things stand, and everyone can get what they need without having to ask around all the time.”
The best part is, our clients can also access Basecamp, ensuring they’re kept up to date with their brand-new website build, video production or blog and social package in real time.
Trello
With Trello, gone are the days of searching through the rushed notes in the back of your notebook to find that one thing you needed to do today. Trello is a collaboration tool that can organise projects and to-do lists into boards. It can tell you what’s being worked on, who’s working on it and what exactly it is. In their own words, Trello is like a “white board, filled with lists of sticky notes, with each note as a task for you and your team. Now imagine that each of those sticky notes has photos and attachments, and a place to comment and collaborate with your teammates.”
The best part about Trello is, it’s completely free! Whilst there is the option for an extra functionality in the form of Trello Gold, we haven’t found the need to upgrade just yet.
Wunderlist
Similar to Trello, Wunderlist helps our team to get stuff done. Whether we're managing work projects or simply putting together a work shopping list, Wunderlist helps us to tick off all our professional to-dos. Wunderlist allows users to share their to-do lists, meaning no matter what the tasks are, the entire team can get stuff done. In their own words, Wunderlist is “the easiest way to get stuff done. You can share lists and work collaboratively on projects with your colleagues, friends and family.”
The best part about Wunderlist is, like Trello, it’s also completely free. We’ve even been using it outside of work to stay on top of our social lives!
Ring Central
At the Creation Lab, we pride ourselves on our fantastic customer service. Ring Central has allowed us to continue this level of service wherever we are! With an additional app, Ring Central has made it simple to connect, answer phone calls and transfer phone calls to the right colleague whether they are in the office or not. In their own words, Ring Central “delivers the high quality, reliability, and value expected by enterprise businesses. Ring Central Office is a cloud business phone system with all-inclusive features.”
The best part about Ring Central is being able to keep track of any missed calls, meaning we can give you a call back as soon as possible!
Sonos
OK, so maybe it's not technically a business tool, but Sonos brings a little bit of fun to our office. It’s a wireless office sound system that is streamed via WIFI, meaning anyone in the office can anonymously queue up anything they’d like to listen to! We can also play different music depending on which room you’re in- Managing Director Matt’s office has different speakers to the general office (we have no idea why…) In their own words, “every Sonos speaker is built to deliver crystal clear sound with no distortion, at any volume.”
The best part about Sonos is playing ‘the Sonos competition’ every Friday. Someone chooses a theme, and everyone anonymously adds their song of choice. The aim of the game is to guess everyone’s song correctly!
At the Creation Lab, we love trying out new and exciting business tools, whether they’ll help us with our day-to-day work or can give us a bit of fun on a Friday. We’d love to hear what business tools are used in your office. Let us know by tweeting us @thecreationlab!
